The Vancouver Canucks have signed a speedy left wing who could wind up skating for the Syracuse Crunch next year.
The Canucks agreed to a contract with Tyson Nash, their 10th-round pick in the 1994 draft. The 6-foot, 180-pound Nash scored 34 goals and 41 assists in 63 games for Kamloops of the Western Hockey League last year.
Nash was a former teammate of Crunch forward Rod Stevens in Kamloops. Crunch general manager David Gregory described Nash as a good mixture of speed and strength.
Nash won Kamloops' Grinder of the Year Award in 1994. In the 1993-94 season, he compiled 137 penalty minutes. |
